Working in a workspace
Raven on your iPhone
Pair the Raven iPhone app with your Mac to read, reply to, and start workspaces from your phone — a beta, behind a switch in Settings.
Raven for iPhone is a remote control for the Raven on your Mac. Agents keep running on the Mac, against its checkouts and accounts; the phone is a window onto them — see what finished, reply, redirect, merge when it’s ready. It’s a beta: the page that pairs it is behind a switch, and the phone app isn’t public yet.
Turning it on
Settings › General › Beta › Remote Control adds a Remote Control page to the sidebar, under Designs. The Mac has to be signed in to Raven, awake, and with Raven open for the phone to reach it; nothing on the phone works while the Mac is asleep.
Pairing
The page shows a QR code. On the phone, open Raven, tap Pair with your Mac, and point the camera at the code. A code works once and for two minutes; the page draws a new one when it expires. There’s no sign-in on the phone — scanning is the login — and one phone pairs with one Mac.
Once paired, the page shows the phone’s name, whether it’s connected, when it was paired, and an Unpair button; the phone’s own Paired Mac screen has the same, with Unpair this phone. Unpairing from either side cuts the other off at once, and pairing again needs a fresh code.
What the phone can do
- See your workspaces — pinned first, then by project — with the agent’s last message, an unread dot, and a wing while a turn runs.
- Open a conversation, read it, and watch it stream. Switch between its tabs or open a new one.
- Send a message, attach photos, stop a running turn, and change the mode and model.
- Start a new workspace in a project, local or worktree, and rename one.
- Read a plan the agent wrote, and merge a worktree workspace’s pull request.
What it doesn’t do: notifications, diffs, opening a PR, the right panel’s surfaces (files, terminal, browser, simulator, designs), settings, accounts, or adding projects. For those, the Mac.
How it connects
Both sides connect out to a relay Raven runs, so it works on any network — being on the same Wi-Fi isn’t required. Everything is end-to-end encrypted between the phone and the Mac with keys made at pairing; the relay forwards sealed frames and keeps nothing. If the Mac stops answering, the phone says so after a few seconds, with Try again and Pair again; a turn that was running keeps running on the Mac, and the phone catches up when it reconnects. If either side is too far behind the other in version, both say which one to update.
